Milwaukee music scene veterans Spud Bucket have a new EP out, and you can hear trace elements of the bands that preceded their formation. With bands like Those X-Cleavers and Voot Warnings in the previous catalog of acts, the material that comprises “Latest Hits” makes tons of sense in context. A new wave and power pop knack for songwriting makes up this EP, with tracks that can feel encompassing when you first hear them. From a technical standpoint, these tracks are polished to a t, and while the subject matter may be a bit out there (see “Flying Skin”), Spud Bucket are on point. ” - Allen Halas

Breaking & Entering Milwaukee

Rockabilly band Spud Bucket have a new single out. They’re here to warn you of the dangers of “flying skin” and they do it with a new wave flare. Synths are peppered in against a danceable riff and the catchy hook. It’s a joyfully straight-to-the-point jam that puts you right in an 80’s party. We hope Spud Bucket have more to come soon.” - bslowbro

Breaking & Entering Milwaukee

Spud Bucket, musically speaking, happen to be The Pugilists’ older–if not necessarily wiser–brothers. Frontman Tom T. began writing songs as [sic] member of Those X-Cleavers. The trio’s laundry list of previous bands includes 19 T-Shirts, Women’s Liberace, The Ugly Ones and Voot Warnings. Recently they have been getting notable airplay out of town on WFMU with “Fraction of a Reaction.”” - Blaine Schultz
